This policy explains how the Garivio website uses cookies and similar technologies such as browser local storage. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. "Similar technologies" — like local storage — do much the same job: they let a site remember something between page loads. Some are essential for a site to work; others are used to measure traffic or to track people across the web. We use as few as possible, and none of the tracking kind.
2. What this site uses
- Strictly necessary / functional. We store one small preference in your browser's local storage — your light/dark theme choice — so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays on your device, isn't sent to us, and isn't used to identify you.
- Language preference. The site host sets the essential
garivio.site.langcookie for up to 365 days after a language choice or redirect, so later visits open in the requested language. It contains onlyenortr, uses SameSite=Lax and is not used for advertising. - Analytics (privacy-respecting). We may use aggregated, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. This is about counts and trends, not building a profile of you, and we don't use it to track you across other websites.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or third-party trackers that follow you from site to site.
3. Fonts
Our fonts are self-hosted — served from this site rather than a third party. Loading a page does not send your IP address to a font CDN such as Google Fonts.
4. Managing cookies & storage
You're in control. You can block or delete cookies and clear site data through your browser's settings, and most browsers let you do this per site. Clearing the functional storage means the site forgets your theme and language preferences; you can still choose a language directly from the site.
Browser guides: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
5. Changes
If we add anything that changes what we store — for example, a new analytics tool — we'll update this page and the date above, and where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
